Hogs for Hospice was started by a dedicated group of local citizens with a vision of creating a world-class motorcycle event that would raise money to support a brand new Hospice campus and Healthcare in Leamington and surrounding communities. After only 5 years, we’ve been able to raise over $1,250,000 – with every dollar staying local.
Our signature event is the “Tour The Tip” registered ride. Last year’s ride saw more than 1000 motorcycles turn around at the tip of Point Pelee and go roaring back past each other on the 2-lane road that leads in/out of the park. The ride then heads out across the County along the Lake Erie shoreline past numerous wineries and small towns before arriving back at Seacliff Park. With the assistance of local OPP and 30+ Road Captains, the “Tour The Tip” ride has been able to block intersections along our ride route and maintain a 5-mile long unbroken parade route of motorcycles, for what is being called by many “the most well organized ride I’ve ever been on.”
We also host epic concerts on a brand new $2-million beach front amphitheatre recently built by the Municipality of Leamington. Our previous concert entertainers include 90’s Rockstar Bret Michaels, Hairball, Our Lady Peace, Cheap Trick and Randy Houser. Our concerts and the incredible VIP Parties are paid for by local business sponsorship, so that 100% of every dollar from concert tickets sold goes to Hospice and Healthcare in our community.
This is an unparalleled 3-days of fun and entertainment for the whole community. Hogs for Hospice is helping to generate significant economic impact and travel & tourism interest in the community by bringing 10,000+ people to town for concerts, 1000’s of motorcycle riders and their passengers, and 15,000-20,000 people throughout the weekend event in an area rich with natural beauty, Great Lakes waterfront, 16 wineries, more than 8 Craft Beer breweries, and North America’s largest concentration of greenhouse vegetable growing operations.
